Hello Peoples!
It is I, Pat Mitchell. A film director and yours truly. I'm literally winging this whole thing so bare with me. Just wanted to give you an update on current projects being developed here at Reel Emotive. We currently filmed a short comedic film "The Compound" with friends of mine, Mitch Jacobs and Jennifer Keister. Mitchell Jacobs actually came to me with the idea, script and wanted to film it. He really went to the distance to get it made and we finished filming within hours and had a great time at it. Jennifer Keister did an incredible job and I'm lucky enough to capture her distinctively on camera. The amazing music from our friend Andrew Scott Foust. Words can't express enough how talented he is at scoring.
It was definitely one of my favorite shoots and owe it to everyone who was a part of it. I barely remember filming anything which is great to me, felt like we were just hanging out most the time. The film is up online and I'd like to say I'm very humble and privileged to be thought of as someone who is trusted for directing your film ideas so thank you. Many ideas flying our way so little time to film it. I wish we can be more productive but in the mean time, patience is a virtue.
We are in pre-production on first and foremost Tit4Tat. It's about a man named Santino who loses his job, girlfriend, and self-respect. On a mission to gain it back, he sets goals and aim to return his pain to the people who conflicted it against him. Produced by Stu Alexander. Very visceral and surreal film the way I envision it as of now. We collaborated on the screenplay, It's a dark comedy/drama and will give you thrills. It's a story about hopes, dreams, and violence I say. We are very quickly closing down the last few details and aim to start filming on Mid-April, even if we have to shoot somebody. Cheesy joke, actually just made it up.
I'm also working on a Be The Change documentary, still being filmed. A documentary like this deserves some time to get facts, opinions, point of views, and personalities accurately expressed within the film. We received some phenomenal feedback about our promo which premiered at the prestige Fort Myers Film Festival. I'm very much glad to be a part of this bigger sense of empowerment we citizens are experiencing. I'm not much of an activist, or protestor but was moved by the people who are. They Day in/ Day one breathe their beliefs and stand up as much as they can. That is dedication you don't often witness and I wanted to help with what little I have in telling their stories. They deserve the spotlight and need to be heard. Produced by Mitchell Jacobs.
Speaking of Mitchell Jacobs, congrats on becoming SAG. He's already there to large appeal like most actors I've come across. He just needs that one film for everyone else to catch on. It will happen soon. He also has been writing a feature film he wants me to director and be a part of. I love the idea and messages it has. A political romance that opens with a big bang. I think you all will love it.
I'm also in talks with another friend of mine, Rev Prochnow. He is an international promoter and owns a monster truck organization. Real confidence booster for me. He's excited to get working on a film or a reality show with me detailing the Monster Truck culture. I'm all for it and coming up with a story, and a great idea for a film. Working on a screenplay now and it's a drama! Monster Trucks and drama, yes! It's one thing to see powerful machines in action, and even better to see powerful performances behind it all. Few funny moments here and there. I feel it will raise brows and very excited at the ideas I'm grasping and having fun with writing it. I planned on going a great distance to get this made with the best possible. So this one will take more than just a higher budget and festivals. It will take Sundance and actors I would bungie jump with to direct. I can make it possible, I know it. I'm going to find ways how.
I'm working on different kind of screenplays too. Trying to experience different kinds of filmmaking. Most are ready to film. I'm always afraid of egging on my scripts and wearing out my welcome with the film community. I think there is a shy factor to that also. I have three feature films I've been writing, two of them pretty much done. I've been writing some high school dramedy for some amount of time now, one I like the most. Like everything, I'm always going back and fourth on whether it's the right time to approach it or not. It is very different from most which are iconic today. Inspired by John Hughes of coarse but set out to create an innovation aspect to telling those type of stories. It is pretty personal to me. I always wanted to talk about kids today, they are stronger then most think and have adult lives much people don't realize. I might just make it happen soon.
Thank you for reading. Hope to meet you all soon and take care.

Letter To You, from Pat Mitchell :)
I am overwhelmed by the reaction and support we've been receiving lately. It always exceeds my expectation; I cannot stress that enough. Usually preparing to defend myself most times. lol Filmmaking is something I always been interested in but seemed impossible. Now here I am, in preproduction, production, and postproduction of projects, making friends along the way and enjoying it for the most part. As a film director, Aspirin is something you put in the budget, if there is one. Make sure it's there! Trust me! I write out scenes just to afford it, the way I make my films lol. All jokes aside, this experience is incredible and there's so many people to thank along the way.
Reel Emotive is a start of something emotive. We plan to enhance traditional filmmaking and find something deeper. My favorite part of filmmaking is the excitement and the affect it has on us all. This secret group with a secret story during secret hours in a hidden location creating this life. Our work become a shared memory with the cast and crew and that intimacy will always live on. Once the film hits the audience; they create their own shared memories and that continues; that transpires. It escalates throughout the world. That has been the magic of cinema since the 1940's. We would love for you to be a part of the magic with us.
It's always a pleasure to watch someone grow and be a part of their success. Reaching their dreams, either or neither within the film business. I am a big believer in everyone. Friends including ones I haven't seen in a long time gaining success keeps me going. So, I am Pat Mitchell and it's nice to meet you. I am always looking to grow; work with many and build lasting friendships with everyone here including you more than anything. If your an actor/actress, want to share stories, join us, love films, invest in us, or meet us; please feel free to email ReelEmotive@gmail.com
Thank You,
Pat Mitchell
